Where do I start? Congratulations to the bride and groom would be good! My journey to best man has not exactly been easy.
To be fair to Rick, he did not have an easy task in picking a best man. The competition was fierce. First, he asked his most handsome friend.
And they said no. Next was his most intelligent friend. Again, the answer was no.
Getting disheartened, he asked his most trusted friend. For the third time it was no.
Then he asked me, and I said Rick, it would be cruel to say no for a fourth time. Rick my friend how far you've come from the grumpy guardsmen when we first met. Rick to me once you were a stranger and then we opened up to each other, now I call you brother. I hold that dear to my heart for I have never met someone as great as you. Together we have laughed, shouted and barked.
Normally a best man would tell stories about the groom to embarrass them infront of their friends and family. I'm not going to do that because Rick his is more than capable and better at embarrassing himself without my help.
Today has been amazing because today has been the most natural event in all of middle-earth. I have never met a couple that have suited each other so well like Rick and Cedwyn have, today has proven that. Love is a language spoken by everyone but understood only by the heart. It is a song that never ends. It is not about finding a person you can live with, it’s about finding the person you can’t live without. My friend, my brother, has now found that person.
May I ask that Rick and Cedwyn stand and face each other?
Everyone here is happy for the both of you, that you have found each other and are now taking the next step in love. As you stand here please never forget that you are standing with the person who is most probably going to murder you.
