WHEREAS Adso Haybank is an upstanding hobbit in a foreign land, with a surname above reproach, and
WHEREAS This hobbit's dream is to open a hunting lodge and inn, which naturally be stocked with fine ales, and
WHEREAS Hobbits love ale, dwarves like ale, and it is rumored that elves will at least tolerate ale, so there is no reason to believe this Inn would be unsuccessful, and
WHEREAS Compared to the Shire, a traveler could perish from thirst for lack of decent inns in the region of Bree (please no disrespect, Mister Butterbur), and
WHEREAS Adso and his crew has been hampered by brigands and misfortune at every turn, causing morale to be at an eternal low, and
WHEREAS A letter from home will always pick up the spirits, whether it be good news or bad, and that undoubtedly Adso and his crew have been unrightfully deprived this small but important joy, and
WHEREAS No other hobbit is tasked with serving the Hobbit Diaspora other than Gerbil,
BE IT RESOLVED That Adso be best-wished and supported by every hobbit within and without the Shire, at least in spirit, but that directly said Gerbil shall establish a hobbit Quick Post stop, for inbound and outbound letters, to be visited no less frequently than fortnightly, and with the intent that it be delivered weekly. Exempt from this resolution is parcels and freight, the size of which would exceed the dimensions of a standard mailbag, although these could be coordinated through dwarven freight forwarders.
Gerbil shall be responsible for printing and distributing copies of this resolution to interested parties while on her official rounds as Post Deliverer or Honorary Shirriff. The Mathom Society shall be responsible for collecting and forwarding donations to Adso, as despite her standing with said Society, Gerbil is still admitted to being and commonly known as a Master Burglar.
Signed: Gerbil
Witnessed: Mayor Will Whitfoot (under protest for the sticky issues of jurisdiction, and against his better judgement)
