And thus the story begins...

((His mother))                                                    ((His father))

*This is the tragic love story of Bradien's father and mother... Though he speaks ill of his mother's decision to toss him into the streets of Bree, this is what really happened.*

Twenty five years in the past... Lived a man by the name of Brasien ((pronounced Bray- cien)), who showed no fear. Originally found in Bree as a boy, though running off to join the Riders of the Mark when he reached of proper age. He lived freely, taking in consideration no one other than himself. Enjoying the spoils of war that often led to waking in bed with a different beauty every night. He was incredibly handsome, tall, muscular, and the attitude to make just about every woman swoon. All too often getting into bar brawls with that attitude, until one night he met Lyya of Bree-land. She stood out to him, in that murky old brothel she shined a new light within him... he needed her. When their eyes met it was like a burst of lightning, and the wind flew from him. Curse the general, curse wars, curse freedom... he needed her. They spent that night together tangled in love. He swore to return to her, his love, as he left on horse back with the rest of his men to return to Rohan...

Weeks passed and Lyya received a letter, a letter stating that her dearly beloved would return in almost nine months time. He sent her money so she might quit her 'job'.... And so she did, happy to no longer be forced to commit sexually to another man who she did not love.  In convenient time too; for she was with Brasien's child. How fate had decided for things to fall so perfectly in place, she did not know.

Just after his return to his homeland, Bransien found that he was to soon be a father. Much sooner than he had figured, but he could not be happier. To be having a child with the one he truely loved. A few short weeks passed and Lyya gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, whom they both agreed to name Bradien after Brasien's father... ((He, however, kept his mother's maiden name in the years to come))... Sadly for the young couple, Brasien was called back to the battlefront raging on Rohan's borders. Lyya waited patiently for six moons for her love's return, though all she recieved was a letter...

'Ms. Lyya Andrews, Brasien spoke of you to me, Captain of the Riders of Mark... He stated that if he should not make it out of the battlefront, that I should contact you through  this letter... I am sorry for you loss, and I hope you fare well... He spoke of his newborn child, and I give my condolences to you and your son... May light guide you and your young son in the years to come...' - Captain.

Heartbroken and mentally unstable, Lyya looked to her young son with hate. Her anger and sadness of how fate has suddenly turned against her boiling to the surface in a fit.

"Must you look like him in every way?!" She screeched as Bradien sat in his crib, who could only coo in reply.

She shook her head, and proceeded to pack her things... Bound for Rohan where she could grieve properly for her loss. She took one last look at Bradien, only seeing her deceased lover. She wrapped him tightly, hugging him one last time before dropping him off at a doorstep in a wicker basket. She had seen this man around Bree before, knowing this to be his home, and he seemed kind enough to take her son in. She was no longer in a condition to care for him. She cried for her son, who no longer had a mother or father... and for her lover, who could not watch his son grow up except for up in the sky as he likely watched from a distant star... She also cried for herself, a woman who couldnt even call herself a widow who had nothing else to live for...

And thus a young man's story begins... With more tragedy and heartache one should endure as a child...
