Poem - Fire Roses

The setting of the sun this day
A crimson light it throws
I see ahead, not far away
A patch of ground a-glow

A blaze of red upon the earth
It burns with fiery light
Yet sparks don't fall from out its hearth
Just colours, red and bright

The rippling red it beckons me
And so I venture close
And nearer do I come to see
The visions of a rose

A patch of roses standing tall
With scarlet on thier heads
Illuminating one and all
They paint the landscape red

The petals quiver in the breeze
Like flames they dance and turn
And reaching out beneath the leaves
Be wary, thorns can burn!

A sight to warm the coldest heart
Like fires that warm your feet
A patch of roses stand apart
No sight is quite as sweet

The sun now falls and hides its light
As day time slowly closes
A fire may dim and fade by night
Forever burns the roses
