Thelendil came to Bree at a very young age, perhaps barely a year old. Not long after her parents had established a life in Bree, her father suddendly disappeared, and not long after that, herm other died of grief, so they say. One of the smiths in town took her in, being fond of the girl, and from him she learned her metalsmithing. When her 'Uncle' became too old, she took over most of the work, and today she does her best to make good tools for the farmers of Bree and Staddle and Comb, and a shield or two for the guard of bree. She had tried to leave Bree once, joining a host that wished to go beyond the Misty Mountains, but she turned away in fear of all the dangers that might lie ahead, and she abandoned her self-forged spear and shield and helm and armor. But one day! so she hopes, she will see Gondor, the home of her parents and theme of many songs her mother sung her.
