Tried to train my companions today. When you are a lore-master, you are likely to have quite a few. I have eight! Two bears, three lynxes, and three ravens. Erynion and Silima were easy enough to train. Though I lost quite a few blueberry patches in the process. I swear they eat more than Vhrond drinks! Next was Maethorion, Falathiel, and Bregolien the lynxes. Aside from a few scratches and a torn robe the training went quite well. Finally was the ravens Mordollwen, Carsuithon, and Glandur. Ai! Don't even get me started on that stubborn frost raven. He has taken to pecking my head every chance he gets. Sylrond seems to find it amusing and has said I should wear a hat when I practice with him. Believe me if it was that simple I would have done so... On the bright side though, I did get him to peck Elrohir a few times when I rode through Trollshaws to visit Lord Elrond. That'll teach him and his twin for the cat incident years ago. But I will not get into that tale now. Hopefully when I learn to commune with eagles, they will actually listen to my commands and not use me as a scratching post or something to peck at. Until then, Glandur will require more training and maybe a helmet of some sort.
