16th Wintring, Bree Reckoning
Barliman is truely a man of great wisdom, I told him little of my story and he informed me that I should place advertisement within Bree for a guide. I took two days, but it paid off with unlikely companionship.
I recieved a letter from an Elf by the name of Arenfelan Aranfelin who claimed to be an oath-sworn wanderer throughout Middle-Earth. He spoke of his ability and experience as a guide and offered his assistance for my journey.
Today I shared words with the Elf in the Prancing Pony, and we agreed to begin our journey by mid-week. I hold a couple spare errands in town before we can head out to the east. He claims to know a safe route around the main roads, once used by the Elves of old, which should save us atleast a day from our journey.
The wanderer claims it should take us two days of travel by his hidden routes. He says we'll be welcome in Falathorn and be provided with a safe resting place by his kinsmen. I look foward to a meeting with Elves, though from those I've spoken to around the Dale-lands they're an odd race.
I told his little of my quest, though he requested some detail as to the reason behind my journey. A fair request as he refuses any payment in return for this service.
