The sun lowered once more after a lengthy day aiding Nogland with provisions. The beauty of the valley seems incomparable at a time such as this. This night we stayed with the Dwarves there, sharing an ale and food under the night sky.

After departing from the halls, and speaking to a well spoken girl, clearly intruiged by our journeys and companionship, we travelled beyond the gate. Looking down upon the vale of snow and pine, the mountains softened by the setting sun.

After a lengthy period of waiting, father finally came to the inn in the lower depths of Thorin's Hall. I had sat and observed the growing numbers of Dwarves coming and going, unable to keep a suspicious eye from me. The ale was good...I have to say, and it seemed some dance and revelry was in progress for the summer months.

An apparent Barding in origin, Dyrhildr has spent most of her life on foot. Since the loss of her parents from disease and frailty, she was taken in by a Dwarf known as Bergr. He took her accross the mountains as her accomplice and adopted daughter, to provide provisions in towns and other localles. Travelling merchants by trade, they both appear somewhat weary and sleepless, Bregr now feeling the age in his bones and in the whiteness of his beard.

The pony was heaving tonight. However, this did not obscure the view of her intended target. A fat and ugly over-jewelled merchant from out of town, flashing his gaudy trinkets in front of the honest farm-folk that had come up from Combe for the night. She felt her teeth press together painfully as she grated them whilst watching the obscene laggard's woman flinching as another belting roar of laughter escaped his jowls. She looked the woman from toe to brow, noting her acquiescent body language-it was obvious as to what went on behind closed doors, it was simply disgusting.
