Log 1: Entry 19

Miss Sol spiked a high fever within the second hour after the drop was given. She was made to lay down, stripped to her small cloth and kept conscious while the fever lasted. Mister Toremund and Jackilyn aided in this progress by keeping her cool with water and spoke with her, to keeping her awake.
It was late in the night when the heat subsided and miss Sol was allowed to rest. She muttered much in her sleep and tossed about.
Before sunrise, I woke up to her dressing and rushing out. I got to the door but she was already gone. I've not heard from her since.

The lack of rest has blurred my memory of the day but I recall the visit from Jackilyn. She brought some food over. I've sent a letter to misses Dumpling, informing her that the kitchen is set up and she can start her work when she's able.
Having a "fussy cook", as she was described, will be of help to keep a regular meal schedule for the patients, and maybe myself.

Mister Bíld has informed me that an elven woman will visit the infirmary, to discuss possible cures for Rue's illness. While intrigued, I still find myself doubtful. I wonder if the good dwarf has been fooled by a trinket vendor, claiming to be such a creature. I've heard many tales of the elves, but it's strange that one might be in these simple lands.

I rested early, leaving mister Bíld, miss Silver and Jackilyn to speak. Nothing seems to be damaged.
I woke from a dream. The one with his shadow. I'll need to be more aware of my work, I can't go down the same path.

Rue visited late. As our deal states, they gave me their time in exchange for my own. I've learned a little more about them. Their state of mind.

    * Annoyance, to be beaten
    * People who don't submit, to be broken
    * Those who don't keep secrets, to bleed or burn.

I'll speak with mister Bíld about this and see what he might make of their words. Rue has been given a bottle of ceder oil for bug bites in exchange for work, removing the weeds from the garden.
