Captain's Quick Report: The Grand Journey Home: Bree to Ost Guruth

Master Reader, sometimes in the past it's been said that Hobbits are not oft the travelling sorts, not at least, in the form of travelling any further beyond their kitchens or the peaceful lands of the Shire that is, hoho!  But I submit to you, on my badge of the Bree Captain's Guild -- that such times are changing surely; when one comes across a company of Hobbits striking out from the Shire through Bree-land on the way to Ost Guruth, in the far Lone-Lands!

It was in the Chetwood, south of Staddle neighbouring Bree which they found me, or perhaps stumbled upon, more like, as I was discussing Guild business with a loyal companion.  Upon learning the short-term destination 'twas the same for us both; that being far Ost Guruth in the Lone-Lands, follow along I did on this rare sight not many Menfolk of the Bree-land probably have ever seen in a lifetime!

A stout group of halflings, and well prepared to deal with the matters of safety while on the road far from home -- from scouts and combat-ready party members clearing the way ahead, to experts of ale and renowned critics of foreign drink to advise the group while at the memorable Forsaken Inn!  So well prepared were these hobbits, they had kindling and fires ready to go at a moment's notice during a resting stop, and why, goodness me -- even at the end of this '2nd leg' of the journey, these Hobbits climbed many mighty stairs leading to the safe haven of the Eglain, the great ruins of Ost Guruth.

From there did I part ways for the night, to attend to my other business on behalf as a travelling representative of the Bree Captain's Guild, and to quickly pen this early report to send forth to the Archives, with the attached collection of drawings and sketchbook colorings from my perspective of this event throughout.  Though I was not present for what I hear was the earlier part of their journey from Bree-town itself, through Staddle, and then into the Chetwood -- no doubt I reckon a few accounts will likely be shared from the members of the Grand Order of the Lost Mathom back home to their friends and family in the Shire.

Rumours go that the group will depart and travel towards several more waypoints on their journey to meet distant kin far away in Enedwaith; the next immediate destination to be from Ost Guruth to Rivendell, after resting well enough for some time to be ready for this next leg of their grand quest.

An outstanding cheer to those whom gave good welcome and in some cases, even joined the journey of these Hobbits as they made their way from Bree to Ost Guruth!  Though, sadly I could not find Master Silon amongst the group -- it has been some time since I've last seen the dear friend, and this is just the sort of journey 'twould be grand to travel with him on!  Hope to see him soon in good health, do I hope so!

Signed,

Captain Naismithea Willarc

Watcher of Roads
Representative of the Bree Captain's Guild
Officer of the Sworn Wanderers

(( Disclaimer: Hello folks, I'd like to caution you that taking a look at the embedded slideshows coming up below will likely not go too well if your in a hurry, and hoping to just get a 'general gander' at what the event was like.  The 'Overview Collection' above is more suited for that!

Viewing the albums embedded below is more geared for those folks looking to get a /slightly/ more play-by-play spirit of how things unfolded.  In fact, I only recommend having a browse through if for some reason, you have an urge to well... just look at a lot and lot of screenshots -- many of the shot angles/perspectives being repeated in other screenshots but at different times during the event, etc!  Thanks for reading. ))
