Captain's Quick Report: Fashion Competition in Grenrill (Grenrill Village Anniversary Festival)

Exhausted, this old Bree Captain is, simply exhausted!  For all that tiredness I may feel however, it's with my great joy to also confirm the happiness and gladdened warmth I feel for having made it close enough in time to see a good part of the Fashion Competition in Grenrill Village today, as part of the final weekend of festival activities before the closing ceremony, later in two weeks time.

Having finished attending a most informative search in the Bindbole Wood for musical, singing badgers, I rode immediately back for the Bree-lands, and though I cannot recall details of the journey, it dawned on my body that I must have successfully traversed through the equivalent of several longer days and nights worth of riding, all in the span of what appeared to be a few minutes... I must be lucky to have many connections to stable-masters and knowledge of shortcuts throughout the land to have made it back to Grenrill so swiftly.  Still, my body did pay the price slightly, and I am quite weary and need rest.

And so that will also encourage this Quick Report to also remain within it's assigned bounds; a brief summary as a representative of the Bree Captain's Guild on the festive event today in Grenrill Village, with sketches and drawings to be attached early, and then submitted to The Grey Repository Archives by mail and post as swiftly as possible, while a more full and in-depth report will follow later.

Having arrived, slightly out of breath, but in time to see several contestants and participating folks walking across the outdoor stage (or Amphitheater) close to the village center of Grenrill, I surveyed the area and noticed a fair number had turned out to celebrate, and have their chance at winning the Fashion Competition.  The Lady and Miss Mindriana, the current leader of Grenrill Village, was present, as was First Marshal, Master-Elf Mattharan, helping maintain order amongst the crowd.  There did seem a rather lively fellow about (which I must admit with surprise, was not me this time around), but Master Mattharan was in good response to resolve the situation each time it might have threatened to stir more unduly notice.

According to the Lady Mindriana, over 15 contestants, of both genders, demonstrated varying amounts of outfits and attire for judging, and it was said she believed there was quite a bit of work cut out for the next few weeks -- until the winners are announced on the same day as Grenrill Village Anniversary Festival's Closing Ceremony day, which is planned for the Second Day of the next Month ((May 2nd 2015!)).

There is not much more to mention.   I assume there may have been some proceedings slightly earlier before my arrival, given the enduring journey I was still in the haste of making, but it appeared quite the success all around, this Fashion Competition, and one does consider with excitement who might be the winners to walk away with coin rewards of 6 gold and 4 gold respectively for the winners and runner-ups.

Master Silon was unfortunately away on sudden but urgent business elsewhere than originally planned, so I was told.  Perhaps when the winners are announced during the Closing Ceremony to this grand few weeks of festive celebrations for Grenrill Village and The Northern Garrison, they might bring their winning attire and dress for one final display to the audience!

Anything I had missed earlier might then be my chance to catch up, hoho!
