Chronicle Summary
Angmar has loomed large in the thoughts and fears of all free people in Eriador for many years. And the threat of Carn Dum is only growing. Ostensibly for this reason, Leothross of the Knights Of Eriador planned a journey into the region. They had to know what forces they were up against. None expected what they would find. This is compilation of their tales.

The plan was simple. Taking only a few trusted companions, they would ride North. The goal was to avoid direct confrontation and find out about this dark land. They needed to know who still lived there, and where their loyalties lay. And they wanted to confirm, or disprove, some of the rumors that Carn Dum was awakening and that the powers, reminiscent of the witch-king, again were active. Then there were those hidden motives. Who knew what would become of those.
Slip in, see a few things, slip out. It was easier said than done. Nobody knew what they would face once they actually got there.
They did not hurry, in this journey. In the first day they only made it as far as Trestlebridge. But it was more of a symbolic step. They had begun. The first step had been take on a journey that would certainly challenge them. But even at this first step they came face to face with the power of fear that the Enemy wielded. They found Trestlebridge still reeling from orc attacks from the North. Several buildings had been burned - exploded even - by Black Fire. In the short time they were there, they did what they could to help, but they could not delay for long.
An early start the next morning allowed them to reach Esteldin in good time. This was intentional, for it would not do to spend a night out in the open. At least, not while they did not have to. At least this encampment, hidden among the hills and trees of the North Downs, provided a feeling of safety.
