Bandits - The Plan

The Plan.

A plan was devised and permission was granted by Captain Hyrien to rescue Brammy, in fact such care Hyrien had for her men, she  had said that she would help in his rescue.  Brammy, a former Blackwold himself, had been taken captive by the Brigands who made their camp at Blackwold Roost in Archet.  He was taken in retaliation for his betrayal of another gang who would pay a handsome price if those at the Roost would hand him over.

To gain an advantage, Eroforth and Ingrandor came up with a plan to lace several barrels of ale with a sleeping potion made by The Bloody Dawn's healer Nimeway who was skilled in the making of potion's and poison's for both good and ill.  The ale would be loaded onto a cart driven by Eroforth posing as a merchant and would appear to have broken down not far from the Roost.  It was hoped that the Blackwolds would be true to type and steal the ale and for the majority of them to have drank themselves into a slumber by the time the rescue attempt began.  All going well, most of the Blackwold would be sleeping and hard to rouse, leaving only those on guard duty alert.

The plan was a simple one.  Taala would lead the rescue, with Eroforth as her second for they both knew the layout of the camp and had worked extremely well together.  Catilyn a capable swords woman, Hyrien, who moved as silently as a shadow despatching her foe with deadly precision using her daggers, Ingrandor, a man who liked to fight, seemingly ruthless, but not yet tested, Lucifen the mute, a capable bowman and Vysarina, another woman who's skill lay in her stealth and dagger, would make up the rescue party.

Firstly the group would take out the men guarding the gap in the south-east corner of the wall, as well as the two watching the main door and the sentry patrolling back and forth.  It was hoped this could be done without any within the camp being alerted to the Dawn's presence.  All except Luc would sneak in through the gap in the corner of the wall and creep around the perimeter of the dark shadowy main area of the camp, where hopefully the majority of the bandits would be sleeping off the ale.  Those unfortunate enough to be positioned in the wrong place would have their throats opened.

Once they reached the well let, and well guarded central area, on the other side of the central wall, there would be little choice but to fight.  However they would take them by surprise and hopefully despatch with those guarding Brammy quickly.  By that point, the rest of the camp would stir no doubt, but they would not have their full wits about them...and there would soon by a diversion of panicked sheep and whatever else Lucifen could muster...

Lucifen would position himself atop the raised ground that looked out over the east side of the camp where he could see the central area where Brammy was held.  His role was to pick off the guards in the centre when the group eventually got that far, as engaging with them would be inevitable seeing as the area was well lit and well guarded.  Once Brammy was freed from the cage he was held in, Lucifen would shoot a burning arrow or two into a pile of timber in the far corner of the camp as a decoy.  That would hopefully fool the majority of the bandits still alive into thinking that was the source of the trouble, allowing the group to leave quickly, by the gap in the wall by which they had entered.

It was not the wish of The Bloody Dawn to slaughter these bandits, but they are not be sort to be negotiated with.  If their plan was executed well there would be the bare minimum of casualties, however, The Dawn had fought more capable foe, and when it mattered the company were a formidable force and if it came to it, they would leave none alive in their wake.

Plan formed..The Bloody Dawn were armed, ready and poised outside the walls of the camp, ready to take back their man.
