Entry Nine: Rescue
One took a moment to himself, remembering all that he has lost. Standing at the edge, gripping tight to her locket. A commotion would bring one’s mind back to his body. On turning, one noticed an Elf bearing the markings as the others from the Warband. On approaching, it would seem the Elf disproved of the woman, Faelyne helping the Company. Fiontann and Faelyne would both argued the point over, as one would check on Teleyn. He did not want to intervene, but one eventually did. Whether it was his words or that of the others, the Elf finally calmed and realized that what Faelyne had done was the right thing. The Elf introduced himself as Osilvren.
It was time for the Company to continue, though due to the heavy snow we had lost our tracks. It would be up to Fang, Rogue’s wolf to find the scent of blood and lead us to the location of Brammy. One and Fiontann would scout ahead, as the others prepared themselves for the journey. One’s first instinct was correct, as Fang would pick up the scent which led us through the Giant Halls. We would find our way over the mountain, before Fiontann would turn back to retrieve the others. One would await them, with Fang by his side.
It took some time for the Company to reach the summit, with many still hurt from the night before. Teleyn could barely walk, though Ostergo would loan his shoulder for her to lean upon. We would continue through the deep snow, with a few slips and slides due to the terrain. As we reached the otherside, a trembling could be heard. Before we knew it, an avalanche would occur. One would be the unlucky one to get caught amongst it, along with Taala as the others managed to escape.
One could feel the pain from the crushing snow. His ribs would appear broken, though he would not speak of such at this time. Baring through the pain, one attempted to grab Taala and pull her from the snow. Though he failed, it did not take long for the rest of the Company to arrive and remove us both. Fang had once again picked up the scent. We where close...
Smoke could be seen from below as we clambered up a short hill. Brammy could be seen, bound and surrounded by Goblins. Many rushed ahead in attempt to reach him, to only meet there own demise and get caught in a trap. It was up to Faelyne, Ostergo, Fiontann and one to fight through the Goblins. Teleyn called out one’s name, fueling an anger within that he had not felt in some time. Though his ribs were broken, one would fight on as if a caged animal. Luckily, Lucifen would use his hidden dagger to cut the others loose as Brammy managed to set himself free whilst the Goblins where distracted. The Goblins would scatter, though this would not be the end.
Breathing heavily, one would press on for Teleyn’s sake. The girl appeared frightened as it approached. An Orc... Of pale skin and blood red eyes, accompanied by a warg. The Orc would mock the Company, claiming he would take the women as his own for releasing his meal. Its eyes would fall upon Teleyn, which would bring out one’s inner rage. We would press the attack, pushing past one and other in attempt to slay the Orc. Its power would be unmatched at first, sending most back but still would receive injury. One’s heart began to rush, knowing that he would fall before allowing the others to do so. The sound of clashing steel would ring through out the Misty Mountains. One would attempt to press the Orc back, before it spat in his face. For this, one would headbutt the Orc and kick him back. It would be Fiontann who would become the Company’s saviour, bringing the Orc to its knees and removing its head.
It was over... We had the tool box, we rescued Brammy... All now was to return home...
As the others congratulated themselves and patted each other on the back, one would wander off away from it all. He would fall, the pain and injury catching up to him. Fiontann would rush to one, pulling him to the fire. All would be a haze, memory betraying one on the events that followed. As he awoke this day, his ribs would be bound with that of arms from a tunic. The Company would rest as these words would be written.
It is time to venture home...
