Daegond ran up the stairs in the Elrond's home and rushed outside towards the eastern balcony. That was the only spot he did not check in the valley this morning and he hated to be late. He passed the second floor alley and slam-opened the balcony doors as it was his way then looked outside with tightened eyes.
There he saw what he wanted to see. Lords of his house, clad in mail and hauberks of silver, blue and black, carrying the symbols and seals of ancient houses where no mortal men remembers their origin this day, save perhaps a few. They were examining maps and lists and occasionally looking upwards to the northern slopes of the encircling hills of the valley.
-"My lord!" he whispered. And his voice came a little more than a hiss. But wasn't he the hound of his house? He who was celebrated for his feats in the battle, and scorned for his manners in civilized places? They did not show great concern to his hissing where many others would be startled. -"My lord!" he said.. -"There is a letter for you!"
Anglachelm did not readily turn and answer. He was seeming busy and holding a quill made of swan-feather and browsing through the lists that his orders require and underlining something on his parchment. His exquisite ink bottle was made of silver and standing as a paperweight on the terrace edge as he signs his documents. Next to him there is Veryacano standing, looking emotionless and cold as usual, he did not turn towards Daegond or answered him. Then why, Anglachelm asked from whom it was coming. And after learning its origin he hummed and added, -"Read it please."
He seemed calm and kept writing as Hound's unnervingly low pitched voice filled the air in a cruel, relentless manner. Then he slowly put his quill back onto his inkbottle and turned slowly as Daegond finished reading the content.
"..I shall ever be ambitious of being commanded, if that is my Lordship’s wish,
Your most humble and obedient servant,
Anglachelm looked at Veryacano and they exchanged a glance for a while. Which the end, the Hammer Lord in darkened galvorn-mail asked. -"Who is this?"
-"Parnard!" Anglachelm replied. "-Apart from what he wrote, the way it was written caught my attention" he added. "-It is rather courteous isn't it Veryacano?"
-"Courts, Kings and Courteous manners. They all had their time in the past my lord" said Veryacano coldly.
-"And apparently they did not die yet" Anglachelm added. Receiving the letter and taking a closer look to its handwriting, he hummed. At the time which Daegond snarled :
-"Leaving the valley and crossing the bridge without your consent... IF that is not a brand new description of disobedience then I know not what is"
-"Also hunting elves down? Men of hinter lands are fielding hunting parties specifically for elves?" asked Veryacano.
-"Nay!" Anglachelm laughed brightly. "Nay they have more urgent and dire problems than trespassing elves in the midnight. They would not though differ an elf from a man when it comes to evil. Bree folk hurt each other without elves around anyways. I hoped he would avoid such places for a while, However....I did not think that he would plunge into the center of threat this directly"
-"And your orders?" asked Daegond.
-"Do not slam doors with your shoulder especially in Elrond's house and especially when I am there hound. This is my first order." said Anglachelm
-"Yes sir" the Hound snarled.
-"Second, find Lady
Miste, inform her about the news. She is wise and would know what needs to be done, and tell her about the situation. No exaggerations. If Parnard is immune to the sound of wise counsel then lets try the voice of songs, while they retain power. She will find a way to ask him to return to the valley..."
Daegond bowed and rushed outside and then Anglachelm turned to Veryacano adding :
-"Writers of such texts sailed away or perished long ago. It might be a good idea to let two of them meet." to which, Veryacano nodded coldly.
Then they leaned once more on the map and kept studying for a while. And in the end Anglachelm himself picked a steel Hammer figurine and drove it towards Misty mountains from Rivendell on the map. Which made Veryacano smile for the first time in weeks.
