Native to Rohan, Oscaerl has pale skin, blonde hair (which is often ruffled and tied back with a piece of beaded string), clear blue eyes and wears a coarse, untrimmed beard over his otherwise pronounced jawline. When entirely sober, a stern countenance telling of sharpness and wisdom is maintained by this somewhat tall (roughly 6 feet) and athletic middle-aged man, though an obscure, but soft, warm smile can often be seen creasing the cheeks of Oscaerl when engaged in attentive conversation. If not on official duty, Oscaerl tends to be clad in shoddy garments and is usually wearing small wooden ornaments attached to his armbands and the pieces of string that hang from his neck. Oscaerl is generally merry in manner and gesture and is keen to use exaggerated, almost theatrical body language to emphasise his words.
