Aefenwine's life used to be simple. True, escorting merchants with his father's small band of mercenaries wasn't terribly exciting - but it was not too complicated and even rather safe for those with enough sense to keep in the background when things got hairy. Aefenwine doesn't quite remember why he fell out with his father and the rest of the group, being horribly drunk at the time, but surely that would work itself out eventually. Then his sister Aefenleoht arrived from Rohan, bearing news which turned the remainder of Aefenwine's existence upside down. Looks like father has got some serious explaining to do, if only they can find him. At the moment though, Aefenwine has got worse things to worry about. Meeting his sister's friends was pleasant enough at first and even looked as if it could bring some gold, but soon he found himself dragged into an unfortunate affair with an aelf wicce and nearly got himself killed on a number of occasions. And who thought a bunch of young women could be such a handful?
