Outward Appearance

Irad is a short man usually wearing grey, rhunic robes and always found accompanied by a black mahogany cane, capped with a silver replica of a Gwiber's head. He is completely bald although he does have a small, neat beard; which like his eyebrows are dark grey. His most prominent feature is the glass eye, which replaces the left eye cut out in the aftermath of a battle, but he also has several scars, a missing finger and an awfully infamous crooked nose, which is also present within his son Skelcar V and many other relatives in his line.

Background

Irad Gwiberskarn II, the previous patriarch of the infamous Rhunic-Dunlending Gwiberskarn family, was born to Skelcar IV within the family estate hidden within the East Wall of Rohan, alongside his twin Advil I. He also had two younger sisters, one of which abandoned House Gwiberskarn to live peacefully as a fiction writer, only to later be killed in a house-fire. Irad was first recorded in Gondor, after assassinating a gondorian guard-captain, both hired and then double-crossed by the Captain's successor. Advil commandeered the prison-carriage single handedly whilst en-route to Minas-Tirith. It is completely unknown how Irad was introduced to Black Market, and eventually reached the rank of Guildmaster of the Black Market branch which operated in the Lone Lands, Black Market Witherland. The Patriarch later faked his death within the House of the Heirs of Ruin, by coating his beard in the paralysis poison Borifin and sucking upon it discreetly. He later re-appeared in Bree but no longer poses any threat, instead choosing to take walks, play golf and watch over his legitimate children, whose mother is completely unknown. Irad was killed by Aronorn, captain of Bree Guard, last year, leaving Irad's corpse headless, but how is unknown. Aronorn also died, taking shrapnel (probably from Irad's mask) to the brain. Irad was eventually buried in a small tomb at the southeastern foot of Ransom Hill, in the Lone Lands, after his body was recovered from Bree's town watch.

It is said that on clear nights when one travels the Great East Road, passing Ransom Hill, that a tormenting echo of a taunting laugh can be heard in an otherwise silent and lonely atmosphere. Whether true or not, Irad's memory lives on through legend, and his family seem intent on supporting these unusual rumours.
