Outward Appearance

Burwin Tidehollow, an ugly man by all accounts, though he is tall, reaching almost seven feet, this makes him seem lanky and unbalanced rather than powerful. His face does not remedy this with good looks, being equally grotesque, if not more so. His head is shaped as a long oblong, flat at the top, with greasy black hair, smoothed back in a disgusting fashion. His eyes are a murky greenish grey, perhaps best compared to that of bog-water, his nose is huge and crooked, looming over the small, smirking slant that is Tidehollow's mouth. His chin juts out a good deal more than it should. Should you have the unfortunate experience of being in the immediate vicinity when Tidehollow opens his mouth you will fall witness to a disgusting dark cave, punctuated by the great green and black rectangles that are Tidehollow's teeth, his friends gave him the apt name of "Pearlie" In mockery of this, and he now accepts the name, somewhat grudgingly nonetheless. To crown  this already too ugly face, his head is covered in scars and cuts, the largest ones being upon his cheek and lip.

Despite his ugly features, Pearlie is clad in the clothes of a well-to-do Bree-lander, seemingly having more money than you would expect from his hardened features. However the clothes seem awkward and out of place on his lanky body, perhaps it is the scars that do this or just his obscure figure. His back is often shrouded in a dark cloak when outside as is his head with a hood, though he will seem to have no trouble in revealing his face when inside a warm tavern or his own lodgings.

Although Pearlie has no muscles to speak of if you ever have the unfortunate experience of challenging him then his true strengths shall be revealed, being as agile as an alley cat and being among the best knife fighters Bree has ever known, though if it were to come to fisticuffs Pearlie would surely have lost the teeth which earn him his name. His knife is, indeed his most prized possession, and although not particularly elegant in appearance it looks incredibly well polished and made for practicality rather than ceremony. If you believe his knife to be his only defense then you are deceived, for at his waste often hang several small flasks of a swampy-green palette, namely, poisons.

Pearlie is an ugly man by all accounts, but do not dare to judge him too quickly, it may lead to your own undoing.

Background

If one were to enquire about a Burwin Tidehollow in Beggar's Alley, where some would surely remember the young ruffian with terrible teeth that lived among them as a child, though all will say that he was an orphan and never spoke of his parents.

In Combe, Tidehollow will surely be remembered by some of the older folk, as the apprentice of Old Leecher Cartwell, the apothecary. He is remembered by many because of the allegations about Tidehollow running an under the table poison-selling operation under the elderly apothecary's nose. However the youth left the town before any of these allegations could come to fruition, recall some.

It is thought that after his rushed departure form Combe Tidehollow settled to the north, in Trestlebridge. It isn't known how he managed to support himself during this time, but it was surely in some unsavoury fashion. After falling under suspicion of a robbery he is thought to have departed for Bree in the company of another boy, presumed to be a street urchin.

In recent days Tidehollow, or "The Magpie" as he is wont to be called, describes himself as a "legitimate businessman who manages the contracts and monetary conditions of several associates", though he is suspected of boot-legging, supplying the black market and housing fugitives.

Friends
He often seems to be speaking sociably with several people including the likes of Branith Stumpwood.
Relatives
None that he knowns of.
Rivals/Enemies
He seems to bear a more than usual hate for the watchers and guards of Bree-Town.
Loves
Silver, hoarded riches, gold, treasure, money, the darkness of night and people who forget their manners.
Hates
Guards, Beggar's Alley, the light of day, beggars.
Motivation
His true motivations are unknown, but from what you can deduce of his personality, they can't be good.
Quotes
"I am like any other man. All I do is supply a demand."
