| Outward Appearance | Physical description: Ren is tall for a woman at just over six feet in height. She is broad-shouldered, with a sturdy build. Her dark brown hair is typically pulled back in a severe ponytail. Though somewhat plain, her features are pleasant, with wide-set green eyes, full lips, and a strong chin. Her voice has a low timbre, and her tone and speech are typically casual but measured, and she can easily modulate her speech to come across as friendly, coy, brusque, or whatever else is most fitting to the situation. When in town on business, Ren typically is seen in a distinctive bright blue captain’s jacket, with her large greatsword strapped to her back. On deck, she wears a simple linen shirt and plain leather trousers, and sometimes is seen in a plumed captain’s hat.
Personality:Typically expressing a friendly and easygoing demeanor, Ren is sociable and quick to engage with those around her, though rather vague about her own personal details. In town, she is typically found drinking (never more than two to three mugs) and chatting up fellow patrons of whatever inn she may be in. Her manner is a bit loud and brash, though not overtly confrontational. On board her ship, the casual demeanor disappears and she becomes firm and direct, barking orders and commanding her crew with authority. She is not unkind nor cruel, though, and when sailing is smooth, she will easily engage with banter and joking among her crew. |

Background
Ren does not speak of her childhood, but if pressed may mention spending most of her teenage years serving in a merchant fleet, and may even be willing to share a tale or two from those times. She has much familiarity with Bree and its surrounding settlements, as well as settlements up and down the Brandywine River.
She has recently acquired a ship of her own and begun to establish her own trading business along the Brandywine, with frequent trips to Bree over land as well. Though her crew is currently small, she is looking to hire new crewers.
Trade
Ren is willing to trade and carry nearly any goods for a reasonable price, carrying furs, alcohols, pipeweed, and other goods up and down the Brandywine on a regular basis. Her standard procedure is to charge a fee for transport of special goods to sellers, taking a cut of profits, though standard goods she pays for up front and sells at a profit.
She will also take passengers for a reasonable fee, charging extra if they require discretion.
The only trade she will never engage in is slave trading, and slavers who try to engage her services will find themselves without goods… and possibly without their heads
