Edylwyn

Edylwyn, Daughter of Yeobryt
| Name | Edylwyn |
|---|---|
| Status | Active |
| Occupation | Thane of Erlfwine |
| Age | Early twenties, though looks older |
| Race | Man |
|---|---|
| Residence | Wandering Bree-land for the present |
| Kinship | None |
| Outward Appearance | Edylwyn boasts long, blonde hair, which falls naturally to her waist. However, this is not readily evident, as she keeps her hair oft in a severe coiffure, or under a hat, or both. In terms of clothing, she can most often be seen wearing that which might be attributed to men; viz., a long, loose coat and trousers with thick riding boots, or something similar. When she does wear a dress, it is most usually of the color black.
Her slightly tanned skin is flawless but for a scar which trails across her cheek, indicating perhaps the slash of a sword or a similar weapon. Her blue eyes accentuate the blonde hair when it is noticable, and her full lips are often caught in a frown of concentration. Her physique is athletic, but tending toward the curvy, though again, it is often hidden by the loose clothing she most frequently sports. Her tall height as well as her other physical characteristics mark her easily as one of the Rohirrim.

Background
A woman of no less than three and twenty, at the age of twenty, Edylwyn's father, Yeobryt, the ruling Thane of the smaller village of Erlfwine, died suddenly. Yeobryt, though nearing the ripe age of fifty, was still in good and virile health. His wife and Edylwyn's mother, Elladis, had died years earlier while in childbirth. Edylwyn was the only child of their union, and Yeobryt never remarried. He therefore decided to leave the ruling of the village to Edylwyn, whom he had been training for such things for the past seven years.
The day was bright and sunny when Yeobryt died. Edylwyn could remember it quite clearly. She had been picking flowers in the field when she was alerted by her maid that something was wrong. Edylwyn rushed to the mead hall, and her father's room, only to find him fallen with an illness she had only seen in animals that had been poisoned. She watched him draw his last breath, and rage filled her heart.
It was not long after the former Thane's death that the Reeve, Urlham, asked for the young woman's hand in marriage. Naturally, she refused the offer out of disgust and suspicion. Urlham had led a revolt against the former Thane, which he revived, and gave Edylwyn enough time to leave the village before he would destroy her as he had her father.
The young woman had little choice but to flee. For the past three years she wandered the world, until she stumbled upon Bree-land. Here it was that she made her temporary home, until such a time as she might return to her beloved homeland.
If one stumbled upon Edylwyn, they might notice that she is very serious. Perhaps even more serious than most people. She does not quite understand most jokes, and makes very few herself. She never drinks spirits, but she is sociable enough.
