| Outward Appearance | ((Memeber of #BreeFactions))# Nogfrid is most notably, a short and skinny individual. His appearnce is verging on gaunt, and despite the time he spends outside, his skin is pale and with a few freckles, now mostly faded. His beard is one of the few well kept parts of his character, and is well trimmed and has grown thick and brown. When he doesn't wear a bandana his hair is also short, straight and thick, and generally a mess. There are signs he attempted to brush it to make it neater, but to no avail. He is definatly not what could be described as muscular, a better description of him would be sinewy. He always appears to be grinning or laughing at something, and his twisted sense of humour and logic make many think of him as odd or queer. He is almost like a child, easily excited by nearly everything. When he speaks it is with a dalish accent, but one that seems to have faded over time. His hands and fingers are calloused and blistered from work, adn they always seems to be moving, fiddling with clothing or an object near by. When he walks he is light on his feet, twitchy even, and though he is clearly not particularily strong, he looks fast. His clother are well fitted, and once would have been fine, but time has taken their toll on them, and there are signs of wear and stitching to hold them together, Beneath his clothing he has collected a multitude of tattoos. On the side of his shoulder he has the grinning face of some kind of demon. Around his neck a necklace of skeletons. Each of his clavacles has a star on it. His forearm has a lighthouse on it. Finally, on his chest are tattooed a pair of eyes. |

Background
Nogfrid was born in a small town called Riverrun, south-east of Esgaroth, north of the brown lands. Nogfrid came from a family of farmers and hearth watchmen. As a middle child in a large family of two brothers and two sisters, he did not expect to inherit much when his father passed. His parents sent his oldest brother to dale using most of the families wealth to train for the prestigious role as a Barding Hird in Dale. Naturally he succeeded and became a talented soldier guarding the earl's of Dale. His second brother inherited the farmland they lived on when his parents became to old to work and run the place himself. His brothers success was something Nogfrid resented, believing he never had the same chance as his brothers due to his his age. The fourth child of the family, his first sister left home when she came of age to work the fabric trade in Esgaroth. Nogfrid never knew what came of his youngest sister, as he was forced to leave home before she grew past childhood.
Nogfrid would have described himself as adventurous, but his family and the residents of Riverrun would be more likely to call him a trouble maker. Although he was expected to work on the farm with is brother, he was more often found in town avoiding work with other children with a similar mindset. He was often found in fights with others, as well as being involved in petty theft and vandalism.
He and his gang of friends would often go roaming the countryside, taking him across the estate of landowner and noble, Thyrge. It was here he met the child Tychoric. Despite the boys reclusive nature and clear differences, they became close friends. He also often trespassed on the farmland of Brynwina's parents, though never met her.Through his adventures he also befriended Milisent and Bretthera during his childhood, and fell in love with the daughter of a watchman Idhaell as he grew older. It was through this relationship that he often got in trouble, being arrested by her ather for trespassing and so on, causing Idhaell to be the one who would bail him out. Although his parents loved him, they were a traditional and strict, northern family, and hated his escapades with friends and lover.
After one too many run ins with the watchmen, his father decided that he needed some direction in his life. It was for this reason that he was sent to join the hearth watchmen, 'to give him discipline'. For the first time in his life, as a member the hearth watchmen, Nogfrid finally started to show some promise. Although he still went out of his way to oppose the authority of the officers in charge of training him, he showed talent as a spearman. As he grew older and his training progressed, other watchmen began to respect him for his talents in combat, and like him for the defiance he showed to his superiors. Eventually he was promoted to serjeant, an assistant to the officers in battle. It was during this service that Nogfrid sadly lost touch with Tychroic and the others, and while the others grew distant, he and Tychoric would still consider each other friends. It was also during this time that he left Idhaell suddenly and quietly, essentially ending their relationship. It was not till after that she found herself with child, while he was away.
After a time, Nogfrid and the friends he made in the watchmen began to become more ambitious, defiant and adventurous. An opportunity presented itself to them to join the Rhovanian Gadraught's, an elite military group of spearman. A hatred of orcs, easterners and southerners, a pride in their northern heritage and the desire for more power drove them to join. Nogfrid's talent as a combatant and the respect the others held for him helped him make a name for himself, but his blatant disobedience and disrespect towards those above him left him from progressing through the ranks any further. Despite this, he was still popular amongst the other soldiers.
However, due to this popularity and his defiance for authority, the officers begun to crack down on him in a near animalistic manner, humiliating him and making his training much more rigorous and aggressive than the others. One officer in particular, Kollsvein Thoredpoika made it his goal to make Nogfrid's life a living hell. It was shortly after this begun that his parents died. It was this loss, combined with the brutality of Kollsvein that has been attributed to Nogfrid's insanity. He became increasingly violent and unpredictable, and despite his apparently cheerful demeanor, he began to become more and more detached from reality. The end result was the officer Kollsvein being tragically trampled by horses when a fire was started in the horse stables. Though it was never proven, many suspected Nogfrid, now notorious for his violence and progressing insanity.
Many also blame Nogfrid's insanity for what happened next. He, and a few of his close friends and allies in the Gadraught decided that they had become tired of the earl's that governed them and the officers that carried out their will. Why should they listen to these nobles? They decided that it should be they should become their own masters, and to do this, they decided to rise up, take Riverrun for their own. When they rose up, the majority of the garrison of the town marched with them. Nogfrid was appointed as the leader of the coup, and for a while it looked that they would take the town in their rebellion. Unfortunately, just as Nogfrid had instigated the rebellion, it was he who caused it to crumble. Instead of hunting down the earl and his men, Nogfrid lead the main force of the uprising on a rampage across town, pillaging and burning whatever they came across. As a result, the earl and his men escaped, allowing them to get reinforcements from Esgaroth. Although the rebels held the town for a time, at the sight of a much larger and experienced force, the rebels were forced to flee the town, tail between their legs.
Most of the force scattered, some to the surrounding villages, some to the wild. Nogfrid and ten of his closest friends decided to leave Rhovanion, to find new life and opportunity. They drifted from place to place, working as guards for caravans, often ending up robbing the caravans they were guarding. After two of them were killed in this manner, they were forced to find a new plan. Five of them returned to Rhovanion while the last three, including Nogfrid continued west, robbing unfortunate travelers they came across, burning farms and whatever else took their fancy. Eventually they settled in Bree-land, at least for now. After spending many days drinking and fighting, they finally found work as carpenters and woodworkers for an old man in town. Nogfrid showed real talent as a carpenter in the end, and the three of them 'bought' the business from the man. He left town shortly after.
Nogfrid now works as a carpenter and pole turner, while the other two went on to be foresters, supplying the material for work. Nogfrid also ended up working as an inquisitor for the criminal organization, the Network as head inquisitor, allowing him to torture and attack people. It is through this work that he came to become assistant at the Dragons Lair pub as well. When not working he can generally be found drinking, smoking or whoring his way across town. He has become obsessed with finding what he defines as freedom, hoping to recruit others to his cause of anarchy and revolution. It is here that his adventures continue.
