As well as the scars, Nime is also missing her left pinky and right ring finger, however, she normally wears gloves that makes it a little harder to notice the finger's absence immediately. Her left cheek is burned and the scar is quite noticeable.
Background
Nimeway, also called Nime or the Mute, was four months old when her mother abandoned her beside the river outside of Bree in the snow. She was found and moved to live with her adopted sister named Maydawn who named her. Nimeway grew up in a very sheltered home with overly strict rules with her adopted sister who became a safety net for her. She was always a shy girl who rarely talked even when spoken to.
When Nimeway grew older, she signed up for a mercenary group her sister worked for. At first, and for a long time, Nimeway was very timid in the group and didn't even know how to fight. So, instead of being a warrior, she worked as a spy and a healer under Captain Hardoleth until his death. This led her to end up caught in many different adventures some much less happy than others and some quite painful. She wasn't always the best member which led her to often times be punished such as having fingers removed and her face burned. (If you want to hear more about those, you'll have to ask her yourself). In this time of being a Dawner, Nimeway lost her sister.
Nimeway met a man named Rossethor Cirdain when she worked for the Bloody Dawn. At first she was terrified of the one eyed man, however she learned he was not as scary as he looked. After falling in love with Rossethor, he and Nimeway married privately. The two had a son named Beriadan. They were happy for a time until Rossethor's death leaving Nimeway a widowed mother.
