Isley was made to be a theif. She's shorter and slighter than average, and it often helps her  to go unnoticed. Her hair is long and dark, usually cascading down over her back, unless she's on a mission, in which case it's pulled back. Her eyes are a piercing grey, always keen to pick up details about whoever or whatever she's interested in. Isley's clothing hardly ever stands out from a crowd-- after all, most of her job is to blend right in. She wears simple things, usually dark in color.

Isley was born and raised in Bree-town.  From day one, she knew she wasn’t destined to walk the straight-and-narrow path. Her mother died when she was young, and her father raised her. He was kind and loving, but he was also a thief. They made their living off of others, and as far back as she can remember, Isley was a part of it. Whether it was pick-pocketing while her father distracted the target, or being the distraction herself, they managed to scrape by with whatever they swiped. The crying little girl bit worked on most of their marks for a few years, but as Isley grew older, she had to rely more and more on skill to be able to steal what they needed.

When her father fell ill, she didn’t know what to do. He couldn’t leave the house to ‘work’, and they needed more money than ever if he was going to make it through the wintertime. She was only just a grown woman in her own right, but she knew she was responsible for taking care of him. Isley ventured to the shadier parts of Bree, where she knew she would find some unsavory characters lurking. She sought them out and turned in her resume—that is to say, she dangled a brigand’s stolen pocket watch, slipped from his pocket by her nimble fingers not moments before, right in front of his face. He was angry, of course, but he couldn’t deny her talent, and so she became one of their own.

Work grew more dangerous, for both her and her victims. The threat of arrest was ever-looming,  and while she had never had to harm anyone prior to joining up with the Brigands, and now people were getting hurt. But she couldn’t deny that the pay was good, and that her father desperately needed her support.  The Brigands weren’t much of a family- though they claimed to be brothers in arms, she was always cautious to reveal too much to them. Isley knew they would turn on her in a moment if it meant another copper piece in their pockets.

She tried her best to stay detatched, but she became friends with, and soon found feelings for a man named Bron. Though she didn’t particularly like hurting people to make a living, things were looking up for her, and Bron brought her comfort.  Her father was improving in health, and she thought that perhaps she wouldn’t have to steal for much longer. Isley made the mistake of revealing that to Bron. He was enraged at the thought of her turning her back on the brigands. Isley was shocked at his rage, and it became clear to her that she had mixed herself up with the wrong people. They fought, and she escaped him, albeit bruised and bleeding.

She laid low for a few days, slinking in the alleys, hoping that the heat would die down. Finally she worked up the courage to return home, knowing that her father would be worried about her. She swung open the door to find her home ransacked. Her heart dropped when she didn’t see her father right away… it was worse when she found him. Isley knew Bron and his men had killed him and taken everything they had. She was broken, and hollow, and at the same time enraged.  If she ever got her hands on him alone, Isley knew that she would end him, or die trying.

It was then that she swore her vengeance on all brigands, blackwolds, ruffians, and anyone that would harm others to get ahead. She got her first real job sweeping up at the Pony, and made enough to earn her keep there, but she never forgot her most lucrative set of skills. These days she reserves all thieving and spying for efforts that would hurt her enemies, and she is willing to give them out to anyone who might want to bring down the brigands.
