| Outward Appearance | Broad even by Dwarven reckoning, with fiery red hair and wild, braided beard. Uthraine Halfblade resembles nothing so much as squat and violently active volcano. Uthraine will typically be seen in his travelling clothes of dwarf-cut cloth and leather with his favourite red hat on his head and a bulging pack on his back. If encountered on the battlefield he will be clad in worn but sturdy plate armour. Like many of the Firebeard clan, Uthraine favours the shortsword as a melee weapon for its effectiveness at close quarters but always keeps a dwarven battleaxe close at hand which he also wields with devastating results. |

Background
Raised in the Blue Mountains of Ered Luin, Uthraine is a proud member of the Firebeard clan. From youth he showed himself as a capable warrior and, when he came of age, shouldered arms as a member of his clan chief's shield guard. Uthraine earned the name 'Halfblade' after he slaughtered a score of goblins armed only with a broken sword, his blade having shattered in the initial engagement.
Following an Orcish raid on the clan hall, Uthraine's father, Othraine, injured in the battle and unable to travel, sent his son to answer a call to arms from The Mithril Guard in his stead. Uthraine made the march to Thorins Hall immediately and reported to Vunar Ironaxe, pledging his fealty and the axe of his father to the service of the regiment.
Having completed a tour of duty with The Mithril Guard Uthraine left the regiment and has set off to explore the lands of Middle Earth in search of adventure, wealth and glory!
