The sun was bright and warm. Not warm enough to cause any discomfort. No, it was more like a gentle embrace, soft and comforting. From her perch upon the porch steps, she tipped her chin up to catch its delicious caress full upon her face. She felt the warmth along her arms, for it was not yet time to don dresses with long sleeves. Soon, but not yet. She was not the sort of person to hurry things before their time. A few nights had become rather crisp, with frosty air nipping at her cheeks, but she relished them rather than feeling an urge to dash indoors and hide by the hearth.
I have risen early, slipped into a robe and wandering up to the gleaming Dwarrow Mirror high above Tol Lochul to greet the dawn. Stars are still gleaming in the velvet blue sky as I reach my perch, arrange my implements, and begin to draft this account.
It was not announced to the Mountain when it happened, and so the crowd that gathered in the plaza was at first only small. Even so, when the doors of the grand home built high on a terrace above flew fully open, bend towards them did the attention of most neighbors standing on the stone walkways around; and when three Dwarves exited, the two flanking in robes brilliant enough but the one between them shining like a polished lapis set in silver and gold, the attention of all the neighbors followed them.
Thus far, journaling for my personal accounts has not gone to plan. It has been something I have not kept up to any serious degree. I find now though I am drawn to write as my mind fights over a thought that hounds me and I am driven to try to reason with myself. At what point is it acceptable to confront a person over feeling the indignation of feeling violated. I found myself in a situation where had I spoken out I would have drawn more attention to the situation only causing myself more embarrassment and humiliation than would be deemed needed.
