'Raun 'ni Belegaer'

A company of Elves passing through the woods of the Shire, on their way to the shores, for they have an instinctual call to the sea from the moment they are born.
In the afternoon they shall continue, passing by hidden roads, singing as they walk and praising the stars of Elbereth Gilthoniel by night.
They shall come thence to the fair borders of Lindon and bid their farewell to those leaving, for they shall pass unto Aman and will never be seen in Ennor again.
The rest of them will still linger, for their final farewell to Middle-earth has not yet come.

Fading

''The trees are green above us, but not as green as they were.
In yrn calen or ven, dan ú sui galen sui noner
The wandering brook is weary, now seldom does it stir
I eithel rain lom, si ú-rîb laewren

The leaves now fade to gold and tiredly, they fall
I laiss thinnar si an valt, a lostad, dannar
And no longer lively are birds, mournful is their call.
Adh ú-garweg in aew, i ial dîn níniel

The flowers open as before, but their colours are not so bright
I lyth edrar sui ú-ab, dan i gelin dîn ú sui 'lân
Weakly now does the Moon rise, the stars fade into night
Si ú-vellen i Ithil eria, in elin thinnar ned fuin
.
The world is slowly fading and we who remain, do too
I ardhon thinna ú-chorthren, a m'i avorn thinnam
We live in dreams of times gone and create no more things new
Cuiam mi elei od lui vrûn adh ú-gerim naid eden

Our time has past, we must leave this land we love behind
i lû vîn thinnant, me moe gwanno i mar hen melam adel
Upon ships tall and silver-grey, on blue waves, crystal lined.
Am geir orchal a geleb-vith, bo gwing luin adh rein ivren

And so we sing, one final time, upon the silver swell
A hi, linnam, min lû vethen, am i nen geleb
The echoes clear, ring about us, as we bid our last farewell''
I nglemyr lim, nellar os ven, sui annam i novaer vedui vîn

OOC details:

This event is designed for Elf-roleplayers/characters. (Please respect that) Our general purpose is enjoyment and immersion.

Also the goal of this event is just to add more to the immersion of the server by reflecting in a way the fading/passing of the elves in the Third Age as in the books.

Even though almost all elves will not be leaving, (makes sense) still, their passing through the lands under the starlight, and their praises/hymns creates that (nice) illusion, for the company and for any others that happen to see them (perhaps sleepless/awake hobbits..) And still makes sense IC, as you can come as a companion for those leaving, or/and to say your farewell to a friend (real or imagined) that will sail to the West

.
Some Eldar will come on foot, others on horse, and we will all journey ( /walk ) West together. There will be calm and soft music, praises/hymns to Elbereth Gilthoniel, the most loved Vala of the Elves and farewells to those who leave Middle-earth, never to return... (this can be done by players who make a new char just for this)

This event relies on the time-of-day in-game, therefore the real time, might be different for every occurrence

[Note]: To make it clear, joining this event, does not mean that you will have to leave Middle-earth of course (unless you create a new low lvl elf char just for this, which some do)

You can come as an escort/companion for those going, or as a well wisher saying farewell to a friend (real or imagined) You dont have to leave

Further information

A company of Elves passing through the woods of the Shire, singing as they walk under the starlight, making their way for the port of Celondim, to bid their farewell to others, of their kind that leave ( such as, friends/brethren or one of their house, real or imagined, for example)

Starting place:

Elves from the Eastern lands have rested here before they continue their way to the shores of the sea. These old ruins, will serve as the starting place for the event

photo

IC rest place:

Here, in the Abandoned Elf-camp, our characters will rest, sing, eat and talk. (It will also serve as a real break for us, in case we need to be away for a few minutes, about 15-20 min, depends,)
Then we will continue again under the starlight

Destination:

The port of Celondim, our final destination for the Event
Here at the shores of the Sea, we will talk, sing and revel in the glories of the past
Then we will say our final farewell to those who leave Middle-earth, never to return (this can be done, with real players who create a new alt just for this reason or just by using our imagination.)

A few kind reminders

Please, be polite and courteous. Take any quarrels or arguments outside.
Please, keep music within lore. No U2 or Guns 'N Roses, please.
Please, keep pets inactive. This isnt a zoo.
> Please, respect the wildlife!
Please, no Rohirrim/Skeleton (and the like) horses, please.
Regalia instead of armor advised. Please no heavy armor and weaponry; we are not going to war and are avoiding perilous areas.
This event is not designed to be official business or council, it is just a peaceful gathering
Enjoy!

Suggestion: For the elves that cant attend the Pilgrimage due to IC reasons, yet they would still like to come, an idea is to create a new elf character just for the event and why not, add more immersion and realism to the event by being one of those who leaving Middle-earth and sail to the West, to the Blessed Realm and roleplay his/her departure
