Outward Appearance

Traegain takes very much after his father in appearance, a tall and proud looking man both strong and solemn in features. His shoulder length wavy hair is coloured a light brown tinted with large amounts of grey, a contrast to his sharp blue eyes which are difficult to see due to his heavy brow. Lines of age are clearly visible upon his face, especially around his eyes that suggest signs of fatigue. His thick, medium length beard plays a dominant part in his features, well-kept and also greying in areas.

His build is strong and broad. Like his father he is reasonably tall for a man, around six foot four. From years of experience in battle he remains quite fit and muscular for his age, though perhaps not as much as in his youth.

Traegain is seldom seen in casual clothing. He wears a thick set of chain mail beneath his family tabard which is made of boiled leather and warg fur. He is also known to wear a helmet of fierce beauty in battle, a piece of armour that had been passed down his line over many generations.

In battle Traegain uses a large warhammer made by the neighbouring dwarves of the Misty Mountains. Heavy in weight and deeply detailed, the man has trained himself over the years to wield the weapon to a devastating effect. His fellow men-at-arms often reminisce on the day that the mighty hammer crushed the skull of the Uruk commander who claimed his uncle many years ago.

The Family

Traegain is the first born son and heir of Raethion and Elinore Lowesmore, a very wealthy and respected family that have served and protected the Dale-lands for many generations. Because of this Traegain was completely devoid of any real childhood, having being encouraged by his proud father to grow quickly in order to take responsibility. He spent his early days within the Lowesmore estate where he was educated and trained in arms by hired tutors from the main city. It was his father’s firm ambition to shape him into his own image by training him to become a knight of the land. Although the boy was reluctant at first, he yielded to his father’s wishes and agreed to take on the role of a soldier and continue the Lowesmore tradition.

Ten years later the Lowesmore house was blessed with another son whom they named Clarence. As they grew the brothers became very close, though Clarence chose to go against his father’s wishes and peruse other ambitions which branded him a disappointment in Raethion’s eyes. Traegain however loved his younger brother and treated him with the utmost respect. Seven years after Clarence’s birth Olivia came, the first daughter of the house who also grew to adore her elder siblings.

 The War

Since his coming of age Traegain had been fighting alongside his father and uncle in battles throughout the land. In his first skirmish they found themselves ambushed by wild goblins in the woods in which his father Raethion almost lost an eye. Since then Traegain had become excitingly cautious, paranoid even when it came to battle.

When Traegain reached thirty his uncle Arenthol came to him asking for aid against an orc encampment to the east. With his father now critically ill with a burning fever, Traegain answered his call taking the household guard with him. The siege however went very poorly; Arenthol was slain by the Uruk commander in the courtyard causing the guard to sound a retreat. Traegain however both out of grief and lust for revenge charged the beast with his great warhammer, caving its skull into the ground with one final strike.

Upon his return Raethion had died in his sleep, eventually succumbing to the fever that plagued him. He was buried alongside his brother Arenthol beneath the tree outside the estate, passing ownership down to Traegain who gave it on to Clarence whilst he rode to war. The war of the ring however raged on keeping Traegain from returning to his homeland...
