Of Note:
- The witchfire sustains the life of the witch until it is passed down to a heir.
- The witchfire could only be passed down to one child- a daughter; therefore, it was normal for a witch to only have one child and that being a girl. Once the daughter was born, the power would slowly pass from the mother to the child until just a faint remnant remained with the mother, leaving her 'mortal' again and susceptible to death.
- It was rare for multiple children or sons to be born to a witch. If a son was born, his blood was cursed by the witchfire and he was doomed to die by the age of two or three. (This 'curse' of the blood was akin to hemophilia.)
- Witches were only able to conceive during a blood moon.
