Marching Towards Annuminas : Earning their trust

29.7 Earning the ranger's trust : "The Hand of Numenor found themselves after the exhausting battle in Esteldín, located in the North Downs region. The group that arrived from Gondor waited to relay the news to the new Steward of Esteldín, following the death of Halbarad during the War of the Ring. Hunahir, the new leader, arrived and informed the group that he's aware of the current situation and the conquest of Fornost. Hunahir also expresses feelings of mistrust towards Gondor that began during the days of the war. Furthermore, he blames Gondor for abandoning the people of the North and not sending help when Angmar decided to embark on a conquest. Another guest joined the conversation, claiming she is a messenger on behalf of the Rangers of Annuminas, seeking details regarding the arriving Gondorian army. Hunahir's feelings are mixed, and not all the Rangers share his views. He informs them that the Rangers won't be able to trust them until they regain their trust. Hunahir informs the group that in addition to the Angmar's invasion a host of Dourhand Dwarves, servants of the late fell-lord Skorgrim have captured some Rangers and are holding them in the hoghly fortified ruin of Ost Galumar, hosing a garrison of 30-50. The Hand members and their allies agree that aiding the Rangers in rescuing their Kin will help to gain their trust. The Hand splits into two parties. Whilst one half scouts Ost Galumar, those who will do the brunt of the fighting ready up. Upon the scouts return, the host, banners flying ride hard to Ost Galumar. The Garrison is defeated by a well-coordinated assault from the Hand of Numenor and their allies that threw the Dourhands off guard. The Rangers were rescued, dealing a huge blow to the Dourhands, whilst the Hand sustained minimal casualties. As the Hand and their allies returned to Esteldin, Captain Belenir recieves an eagle that he must find a way to move the Gondorian troops and their supplies to Annuminas, Belenir inform the news to the company which raises concern amongst the Annuminas Rangers and others wishing to preserve what is left of the city. Captain Belenir left to his mission and he left Marshal Minaiadan in charge of the group.
