Hidden Mysteries

Has there ever been a night as such? I'm in a small grove of leafless trees, with cold hard frost on the ground beneath me and under an untold number of delightful glittering stars, raining their light upon the mark and all creatures wandering in the dark.

For surely there will always be creatures that wanders in the dark, many with ill intent and hidden agenda, but also those who love the light of the stars, more than the sun. The one I had decided to stalk this bright night, was a puzzle that needed unrevealing. A flock of crows had led me to my friends and a singular crow had followed us since I met them. Now it was my turn to follow the crow, not an easy task considering how fast it crosses the land, but it flew in straight lines like most birds do and that was enough.

Standing perfectly still, as an ancient gray rock, hidden in deep shadows, I observed the crow meeting a monstrous huge silver wolf. The crow flutters its wings and tilts his head as it yammer in its own language, while the wolf responds with deep growls. There is a connection between them, which is obvious, but what connection does the large wolf have with us? Had it been a warg, I would have killed it, but a wolf is another matter. They are more creatures of nature, than creatures of the dark. As I'm trying to figure out this puzzle, the crow takes its leave and flies straight back to Floodwend.

Remaining still I observe the huge wolf, who in turn observes the crows' flight towards my friends, before it turns around and disappears in the opposite direction. As I remain alone in the grove, deciding to settle down for the night there, I can hear the howling of the many wolves in the distance. A warning? Or maybe a celebration to the stars shining upon us all?
