Letter to the Company

A letter arrives at the headquarters of the Company of the East Road. Though the adress is written neatly, addressed to "Furley, Anastasiar, and the Company", the contents of the of the letter within are scrawly and rather hard to read; almost as a child's.

It reads:

"Im lernin to reed and rite. I hop yoo all ar doin wel. Im ulive and ok.

Daphne"

Daphne shakes her head in embarrassment whenever she thinks of the letter. But she was told writing letters would help her both read and write faster. Besides, she knew they'd be glad to hear that she was still alive.

She still couldn't read Furley's letter, but she would. She was determined.
