I have finished my report on the remaining two bodies. It will be handed to Constable Applewood when the bodies are returned. What remains is to prepare them for the undertaker.
The infirmary is finished and posts pinned to the noticeboard. The funds from my inheritance are running low. I'll need to be more mindful of what I buy in the coming weeks.
* Ask for the owner of The Crow's Claw
* Find and establish trade in the market?
* Less wine
I am still unable to find any rip or tear in the mask. Yet, as I examined the bodies last night I could smell the rot. Mint is powerful enough to cover the stench and still, I could smell it.
* Double check the stitches on the mask
* Buy a spool of twine, leather
Zeylheim has been working on his new home next door. He invited me to see it last evening, I accepted. The man has done well for himself and created a shelter that reminds him of home. Either it will give him the much needed comfort he seeks or it shall magnify his misery. Time will tell. Either path will help me understand the mind further. Effects of such things on it, about loss and overcoming it.
I returned to the infirmary and Zeylheim came shortly after with a bottle of wine, purchased from the Inn. We didn't talk for too long as my mind was too occupied by the corpses. I cut our evening short and returned to my work.
* Was he upset?
Few hours of sleep and then I will prepare the bodies. It's about time the families said their farewells. Will do my best to bury the memory of what happened.
