I had not expected to have a patient so soon, I have not managed to open the infirmary yet. Things are coming together slowly. Should be able to open soon.
The young woman I met by chance while visiting the town. I sat outside, enjoyed the fresh air and a band of minstrels. I regret not having taken the time to listen, my nose in a book again.
* Rearrange books
* Find father's script, ear
* Is garlic common here?
* Pox, research
There was a noise that didn't match the melody. It was irritating and I lost my attention. When I looked, I saw the young woman. She looked like she was crafting something out of clay. Sitting with her I learned that she was simply trying to pluck the hardened stone from the apron.
We spoke. The woman thought she owed me money. After I corrected her assumption, she spoke more calmly. I learned she is a potter, miss Jackilyn the potter. An apprentice.
I have agreed to do business with her shop, to speak with Flo, her teacher and arrange a deal.
* Cups, two dozen
* Plates, ten
* Bowls, small, dozen
* Bowls, medium, dozen
* Bowls, large, wash, three
She had an ear irritation, said something was stuck in there. I offered to take a look, thinking I would find a lump of clay in there. The woman did have clay everywhere.
Instead I found an infection, the skin swollen and red.
In exchange for two bowls, I offered to treat her. First patient.
Jackilyn is an amusing woman. Her nature is spirited and humorous, our talk distracted her while the oil settled.
She has borrowed one of my drop-vials, with the promise that she will keep it as safe as a sapphire. It makes me uneasy to think it might break but I will put faith in her.
* Find the vial drawings
* Find a glass maker
I decided to ask her if she wished to join me for dinner, since I was going to The Crow's Claw. She accepted and insisted she would pay for our meal and drinks. I was given an odd stare by the Innkeeper. It was better than arguing with the woman.
The potatoes are good. I will have to eat here more often.
* Visit the Thirsty Boar
She told me that my eyes were pretty, that it might be the reason women visit me for treatment. I was confused by this statement and don't think I responded as one should. How do you respond to such?
At this time I have a mind to hire a bard to teach me about socializing again, I have been locked away with books for far too long.
* Look for a House Keeper
* Buy a new broom
* Buy a pot for boiling
