Pine Cone

After a bout of terrible winter weather I set out across a sheet of ice, through deep drifts of snow, to lead one of the horses on a walk. On the way back in, I found this perfect pine-cone sitting in the middle of the path. It must have fallen just at the right time for me to rescue it from being consumed by the snow and ice. I brought it back to the farmhouse and painted it.

((OOC: The above story is what actually happened in real life, only it was a dog, not a horse, and a driveway, not a horse path. See this photo of the actual pine cone, and the full sized painting, which was done in Procreate on an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil.))
