Event details:
The Writing Club cordially invite you to celebrate the Twelfthty Seventh (127th) birthday of one of their esteemed members, Ronald Dwale. Unfortunately Ronald is off on his travels somewhere and won’t be able to join us, but please make your way to the Bird and Baby Inn, Michel Delving, the Shire before 15:00 to raise a toast to his name and later we’ll set off some fireworks too! It should be said the wandering wizard Gandalf may not be available to attend either. Fireworks, pipeweed and drinks can be provided! The Writing Club have employed another wanderer, the elf Ranatuor, as party planner, so please relate any enquiries to him.

This is a RP-lite social event, though RP is welcome, of course! Just please be aware people joining in will be coming to celebrate JRR Tolkien, not his LOTRO equivalent, and the focus is as a social event inclusive of all.
After the main event is complete and the smoke from the fireworks has cleared, Ranatuor may well go off in search of Ronald Dwale himself, to congratulate the Professor “in person.” You are most welcome to join him!

We had a fantastic turnout in 2017 (and 2018!) especially with it being the year of LOTRO’s 10th Anniversary and we had an extra special guest, SSG Community Manager Cordovan, who streamed the event live via the LOTRO Twitch feed! 2019 also marks another grand occasion, the 50th anniversary of the Tolkien Society and in August 2019 they will be hosting a special celebration. Details can be found here:
