The first flower of spring

The snow has melted, but the grass is not yet turning green. Amongst a carpet of last year's dry brown leaves, a single brave flower peeks its head out, struggling to raise its white petals to the sky. Fenley paid little attention to this flower as he passed it on the way to his work site.

(I'm a total newbie at sketching, still learning perspective at drawabox.com, but I'm also trying my hand at different things now and then. Two months ago I literally couldn't draw a straight line, so even a fumbling sketch like this is major progress for me, even if I have a long way to go.)
