Dearest Faerind,
This has been the longest we have been apart and I have to admit that it is hard, even for me. But do not worry yourself over me. As you know, I am constantly finding something with which to amuse myself.
I only just received your letter. Ada and Naneth had it for awhile, but they could not send it to me for they did not know where I was. As soon as I wrote to them from Duillond, they sent your letter to me. It seems you had an eventful journey to Lórien with new friends to make and new lands to explore. How do you find Lórien? I hope it is as you expected and not lacking in anything. Have you made any new acquaintances and friends? I assume studying under hiril Makanare’s instruction is still exciting as ever? Tell me of it in your letter. I will not be with you in person to grow tired and put an end to your passionate rambling, so take advantage of it. Though, keep in mind that if you take up too much parchment, there will be no bird that could take your letter over the Hithaeglir.
I am not sure I find Lindon quite interesting, but the journey here was entertaining enough. I find that the wilderness suits me, Faerind. The more I explore it, the more I am astounded that I never left the valley and was content to stay there. The elves here love the sea and their sailing and songs. The amount of clear blue water here is incomparable to that in Imladris. It did take my breath away for the first few days and I should like to bring you here one day so you can see it. The song of the sea and the elves here are almost constant. You would enjoy their evenings of revelry and wine.
Yet, I grow restless in Ered Luin and find myself yearning to go back out into the wilderness. Though, I do not know where I would go. I suppose I could consult the maps and tomes in Duillond’s library and seek a safe route to some place I have only ever read about in my books. Traveling would be quite dull without you, or at least a companion, I should think.
This letter has a long way to travel to you, but I will send it when I find someone heading that way. Write back as soon as you receive it. I will be awaiting your reply impatiently.
