| Age | Adult; Middle-Aged (Born T.A. 2981) |
| Race | Man |

| Outward Appearance | There is no mistaking that this stout-looking warrior is one of the Rohirrim, being a flaxen-haired woman with proud bearing. Blue eyes further hint at her rohirric heritage, though emerging wrinkles hint that Gleawynne is scarcely a maiden anymore. She outfits herself mostly in practical garb in hues of green and brown and she often carries a lute with her. A scar decorates her right cheek.
Despite the confident, proud way that she carries herself, Gleawynne can be said to have a playful, if not outright mischievous personality, quick to play riddles and engage in trickery with others. |

Background
(R.) Scealdmaegden (sceald + maegden): Shieldmaiden, Title
(R.) Gleáw- (prefix): Cunning/Quick-witted
(R.) -wynne (suffix): Alternatively chosen spelling of -wyn (Anglo-saxon for joy).
"Being a scealdmaegden is no easy task. There is much grey in the path that she walks, and though she may often be welcomed by patrolling eored, so too can she be scorned by those who believe that her presence brings ill omens. - Gleáwynne
The shieldmaiden Gleáwynne's origins are shrouded in uncertainty and confusion, as the woman herself presents several differing versions of her own origin story, and she is quick to reply in riddles if pressed hard enough on her backstory. What is known, however, is that as a scealdmaegden, her record of service is long, having wandered the plains of the Mark for nearly two decades and joining a handful of eored on patrols.
It is said that the history of Scealdmaegden Gleáwynne began with the acquisition of favour from a noblewoman of Snowbourn, who saw potential in the young maiden and saw to it that she was given proper armaments and training. Trained in the art of warfare and forsaking any notions of womanly duty, such as housekeeping, marriage and childbirth, the young maiden trained vigorously, until she was deemed ripe by her teacher and allowed to roam free on the plains of the Mark.
As the years passed by, so too did Gleáwynne's experience and skill grow. She offered counsel to those who wished it, and aided in overseeing the defences for some smaller villages in the Eastemnet. Even now she leads a monastic and nomadic lifestyle, never calling one place her true home, and armed with a number of weapons, among them her trusty lute, sword and shield.
In recent times, Gleáwynne has remained within the reaches of the Eastemnet, rarely crossing the Entwash to the Westfold. The most recent sighting of her was in Cliving, where she was last seen exchanging words with one of the maegisterwigend who reside there. (Feel free to get in touch if you'd like to RP!)
| Friends | Unknown |
|---|---|
| Relatives | Mostly scattered around the Eastemnet, or so she says. |
| Rivals/Enemies | Easterlings and orcs, and basically anyone who works for Mordor. She holds no love for the Dunlendings to the west, but she has no personal grievances with them either. |
| Loves | The sweet sound of music, her horse Ashenhart, and the fresh air that brushes across one's face when riding across the plains. She is also fond of mead, being a frequenter of mead halls and taverns. |
|---|---|
| Hates | Broken lute strings and rusty weapons, servants of Sauron, and the people who stand in corners and do nothing when festivities are had. She also does not like young maidens who idealize the lifestyle of a scealdmaegden. |
| Motivation | The Protection of the Mark |
| Quotes | "Let me tell you a tale of questionable authenticity, and sing a song of deeds unverified!" - Gleáwynne's usual tongue-in-cheek greeting before a performance. |
