Failed Kidnapping

One day a cart pulled by two horses and carrying various crates and two passengers arrived in Bree.  It suddenly became involved in a high-speed chase with two other horses.  The following is what various bystanders saw as the chase sped through the city.

Road from Combe Gate:  The cart is going at a slow pace into Bree with 2 people sitting on the front bench. The driver—a man—yells, “Oh no! They've found us!” The cart speeds up as 2 horses gallop from behind to straddle the cart, easily avoiding all obstacles. Each rider in turn expertly jumps from their horse onto the back of the cart. Just before they all pass out of view, you hear one of the riders yell roughly, “Get the girl!”

Market Square: You hear a lot of noise coming from the road to the Combe Gate. When you look up you see the cart straddled by 2 riderless horses. One of the two men standing in the back of the cart grabs the woman who is seated next to the driver, who yells “Let go of her!” As the cart barrels into the square, she is dragged kicking and screaming into the back. Somehow she escapes the man's grasp, and the other man responds by hitting her in the head with his mace. She tumbles to the pavement, the driver yells “Daisy!” and as the cart speeds down the south road the 2 horses form up close behind, obscuring the activity on the cart from view.

Town Hall: The driver of the cart throws himself at a mace-wielding man in the back, and the two grapple until one of them goes down. Meanwhile the other man in the back leaps into the front seat, struggling to regain control of the cart. While one of the horses follows close behind, the other moves up alongside the cart. The scene disappears out of view as it turns left past the jail.

South Gate: A galloping horse followed closely by the cart with a driver and a riderless horse behind that rushes out of the Woodsmen's Gate and barrels down the road till it disappears through the South Gate. They drive recklessly, paying no heed to anyone on the road, and almost run you over. The cart has various objects being jostled around.

These events were related to "Daisy" when she spoke to the eye witnesses, with some details being omitted or obscured according to the personalities of the bystanders.  She has little more to go on when determining how she arrived in the city.
