What should I do?

in

Oh what should I do
When I walk out the door?
What wonderful things
Today lay in store?
There's so many things
To see or to do
I'll wait a short while
To think of a few

I could work in the garden
To tend to my flowers
With trusty old tools
I'd potter for hours
I could work on a carving
Or some other craft
Then I'd chat to my neighbours
And share in a laugh

There's always the inn
I can go for an ale
And listen to music
And riddles and tales
Or maybe the market
Will all their fine stalls
I don't think there's time
To visit them all

Now, down in Bywater
I could go for a fish
And hope for a trout
To fill up my dish
Or out in fields
There's mushrooms to find
And berries to pick
This fine autumn time

Perhaps I can wander
Along some old stream
Or lie on the bank
To relax and to dream
On stroll in the woods
Where badgers run free
And all of the songbirds
Will sing in the trees

So many fine places
Some old and some new
I just can't decide
What I should do
I think I'll be lazy
And stay in my bed
And spend the day writing
This poem instead!
