Branston's Journal - Welcome to Arda

I am sorry that it has taken me some time to fulfill my promise and write about the night you entered this world, but recent events have kept me too busy to write.

I moved out of the DawnHall, several days before you arrived into our new home that I bought, it's right next door to the one I lived in with your Father for a while.  It is quite a grand house really for one such as I.  There were two reason's for moving, your arrival of course and your half sister Taala has moved in with us.

I confess that I was wary of taking Taala in as she can be difficult to say the least, but she has surprised me with the kindness she has shown you, if not me.  I may even look past her slovenly ways and disgraceful antics at times.

Ah, I do not wish that you would think your mother a coward, so I will not record too much detail, for I'm sure if I still have breath in my body when you are old enough to understand, I shall be able to recount the moment of your birth to you in the greatest of detail, but such things are dull for a journal and not of interest to men.

know this my dear boy, you took almost two moons to utter your first cry, and cry you did, but it was the most welcome sound, for I was scared that I would fail to deliver you, like all of your siblings before you.  But I did not fail in my endeavors, and I would endure the pain a thousand times over, for you are the most important and proudest thing I have ever achieved.  May the God's bless you, my dear sweet child...
