The Question

Annsuel tried to avoid the Prancing Pony, though she found herself both nervous and bored at home, so she wandered out accompanied by Honey, her cat.  In the Pony, it was mostly empty save a few people in conversation and a musician.  Annsuel made her way to the post and subconsciously leaned against it, forgetting about her wound.  She immediately winced and pulled away, which caught Lord Amnis's attention.  She had hoped to not run into him, since it was his man who had shot the arrow into her arm in Tzu and her fight against Amnis the night before.

But it would have been rude for Annsuel to try to run, so she smiled to him and said it was nothing.  However, he insisted seeing her wound, pulling the sleeve of her dress up and inspecting it.  Amnis was sweet to her as he healed her wound, which surprised Annsuel. However, she soon found a bigger surprise.  Her wound was an obvious arrow wound, and it was considerably fresh.  He recognized it.  As he tended to her wounds, he spoke to her, telling her about the fight he had the night before.  Annsuel acted clueless of the innocent, but she could tell it was going downhill when Amnis began to intently make mistakes in the story as if bating her to correct him.  One being him calling Tzu a he.

Annsuel saw this, and didn't react, which momentarily tricked him.  A relief that was.  But a mistake took away that relief when she accidently referred to Tzu as a woman.  Amnis caught her.  The trap set around her ankle as if she was a fox caught by a hunter.

The two then moved to the back, however Annsuel instructed Tzu not to follow.  That seemed to surprise Amnis, though Annsuel is great and surprising people. Their conversation was not actually hostile and Annsuel learned that the lord had felt indebted to her.  Which made Annsuel begin to wonder, was this man a friend or a foe?  He had been a foe to Indignation for awhile, however, he did not attack Annsuel while alone.  Was that truly for he felt in debt to her for not taking his life in the fight, or was he just concerned she'd have back-up around the corner.

Was he her friend, or was he her foe?  Annsuel had to find out soon whether or not he would be a threat to her safety.  If he was a threat, then she knew she had no choice but to silence him.  But if he was a friend, she may be able to use him for her advantage.  But it all came down to one question, is Lord Amnis Gadreel a friend, or is he a foe?
