Chronicle Summary
Bree has offered me the oddest of problems, adventures, and tales. I've only been here several days, though I can tell my fate has led me in an entirely new direction...
Chronicle Content
With some well-deserved refusal, I set out from Aldburg to retrieve my cousin, Valaden. He is quite dear to me, and holds some importance in these lands, being a Rider and a Lord. My family expressed their concerns when news of him being wounded in the rather distant lands of Eriador came to us, and so I was put to the task to bring him home. Two of my brothers and two of my fellows-in-arms escorted me through our homeland and past the mountains, though they turned back when the safety of my journey was assured.
I had been sent to Bree-land to find my dear cousin, and there I arrived. At the very moment I rode to the Prancing Pony, I found him, nearly drowned in the ale from the inn. That is where my journey began, and where fate had taken its newest turn.
When I was able to sober him up and take him to his home here in Bree, he told me of a company he was a part of, the Honor-Bound Alliance. He told me of the the leader, a young woman whom he loved, and her rather recent death. He also told me of the danger from the North, and what evils behold these land if it is not defended. It was then he begged me to stay at his side to help him with his duty to his Company, which no doubt is in shambles.
My heart is conflicted by my duty to my homeland, and my love for my cousin. I pledge to do what I can to help him in his mission, if it means he will not drown himself in misery, or die in battle alone.
