A Hobbit Missing: Ally's Diary III

Dear diary of mine,

in the morning I sticked posters to Michel Delving, hoping that someone would notice them and tell me if they know where my friend Rhinnie is. Amorey gave me a drawing lesson and I did my best with this portrait of Rhinnie... it was easy to recall what she looks like and if all of those posters do not make her run back home head over heels, I will leave my burrow and go find her myself!

Later we gathered in the Shire Rose Halls to hear miss Yule cross-examining master Balving, who was willing to join us. He was all pale and shuddering, poor lad. I hope he does not regret it now as he is one of us Roses!  Oh and Bovso came too to get his pendant. To me it seemed that he was quite proud of it, which was no less than our pendants deserve! Beautiful ones, truly.

In the afternoon we played some music (Simbo, Amey, Tahitoa, Sandinia and me). Treaglo dropped by and the dwarf-lord Daain, friend of Amey's, came to sit on the naughty chair and listen to our rehearsals. Like Simbo defined 'naughty': "Anything involving ale as far as dwarves are concerned", which was well said. I think it is widely known fact that dwarves do not despise ale. Not that, honourable folk they are.

After the rehearsals I left Amey to talk with lord Daain in the Shire Rose Halls, caught my Silas and rode all the way back to Bywater and to my parents' burrow. There my old dear Ma was singing with her hoarse voice and sewing again, meanwhilst me father was still outside working in his fields. So I sat there, helping her to sew the old dresses in order that she could sooner continue working with her newest dress... it is going to be a wedding dress, I think, but that I do not know if it yet has a purchaser. My Ma told nothing but smiled in that mysterious way of hers.

Dinner time is here. This hard day's work appears to be done by my Pa. I will write more later.
