While everyone was away, I was looking heavily into some old records from the jailhouse in Bree. and I found something from a few years ago by an old, watch captain.. A few things, actually He was apparently very involved in taking down the Black Market the first time they came to Bree-land, and according to records by other watchmen, he did so successfully - however fell in battle after killing their previous leader Irad Gwiberskarn II, his Daughter Jazilin and apparently a man called "The porter" named Ansted. Though, the lists of arrests was much higher. The man is probably turning over in his grave now that the Black Market is making a return..
I read that when Aronorn Died, he was found dead on a bridge with bits of runic mask lodged in his face, oil and a few broken arrow shafts in his leg and shoulder, and bruises on his body - accompanied by a smirk on his cold face. He left Irad headless underneath the bridge with several stab wounds throughout his body. They had both been dead roughly an hour when they were finally found at scholars stair. This happened just before the Brigands of Bree came to power under my order. I'm kind of glad he died when he did - otherwise I might be in prison. *a few pages are folded up and stuck between this page and the one before, and read as follows*
Report 23 on the Black Market issue - It's been nearly a year now and I am still trying to put a dent in the events that the Black Market are causing in my town. Trading illegal goods is one thing - a slap on the wrist. But all these senseless attacks and robberies? No. That cannot be tolerated. Today I made a run to Thestlebridge, accidentally running into their leader, Irad, on the road. The man isn't a fighter, but he is an escape artist. More than I will ever be. How he managed to jump off a cliff, hit the water perfectly and escape is beyond me. I'll have to catch him off his guard, in a more enclosed setting. Before he jumped, he told me of him only being a small part of the Black market, and that I couldn't stop them if I tried. A clever deteret, but not quite clever enough. -Aron
Report 29 on the Black Market issue -
Irad. The name keeps on making it's way into my head and taunting me. We caught him. We had him in a safe house, away from everyone. We had the head of the snake, my partner had disarmed him (revealed a pouch of black powder in the back of his mask) and I left him with a new guard, half naked and tied to a chair. I then return to discover that he used an iron brazier to beat my recruit senseless and he ran out the door! I swear, if you want something done you must do it yourself. Fortunately, we got a few names of members out of his mouth before he ran away. Trixtus. Jazilin, his daughter (whom I've arrested before, yet always gets released during trial due to pity DESPITE BEING A KNOWN KILLER) Sedor, Ansted, and the location of a storage space in Bree that they are using to keep their stolen goods. Upon my arrival the things were mostly all moved away and their was one man left, bald fellow that looked like Irad. He attacked me on sight, ended up with his own head smashed in due to refusal to give in. I suppose today was not a total loss. -Aron
Report 34 on the Black Market issue -
After a long fought battle, I think I have at least managed to drive the Black Market away from my town. It has been a long time since I have heard from Irad, or any of his miscreants. Jazilin has been sent to banishment, and not been heard from. It seems I can finally retire in peace. -Aron
Report 35 on the Black Market issue -
Nearly a year into my partial retirement and I hear people complaining about Jazilin being back. A farmer called Threland, being that 'people'. I guess retiring is a lot to ask? I found the girl in the woods. I killed her on the spot. I have no sympathy left for her, I tried severalntimes to rehabilitate her, but she would always run back into a life of pain and misfortune. Her death was swift and painless - I have done my job. Irad is next. I will end him, or die trying. -Aron
