Arriving, Istuir made haste to the Library where he knew scholars would reside, hopefully they would have some answers..
Entering the library Istuir’s eyes fell upon an assuming yet diligent looking Eldar who was busying himself with his duties, approaching he caught the attention of the scholar. Istuir introduced himself and quickly showed the books he had found. The scholar who clearly recognised the books looked surprised and then worried and then quickly asked where they were found.
After a brief exchange the scholar, Aerwe explained they were stolen from the library by his nephew Finthol, Istuir was rather surprised and queried how and why.. Aerwe’s expression then drifted not only to shame but regret.
Aerwe sighed and then began to explain, Istuir remaining silent listening to the tale.
Finthol’s father had died not long after his birth and soon after his mother Velwe (Sister to Aerwe) grew ever distant, consumed with grief at the loss of her husband. She took to studying shamanism from other cultures in some vein hope to contact the spirit of her husband. She spent many years travelling to Dunland, Forochel and finally Angmar from which she never returned.
This resulted in Aerwe having to assume responsibility for Finthol who constantly rejected Aerwe and his guidance. Aerwe tried over and over to encourage Finthol to educate him but his heart was in the wilderness.
One recent day Finthol returned from one of his many forays to the wilderness with a clearly up beat spirit he had met a hermit whom he felt a connection with, even though he was human.. Finthol was clearly very happy, this annoyed Aerwe greatly and insisted Finthol avoid such a person.. Finthol naturally refused and soon began to take books from the library (on linguistics) only to return them in perfect condition weeks later. Aerwe again challenged Finthol, but Finthol shook his head in frustration and walked away.
It was then on a fateful day Finthol hurried to see Aerwe, pleading for help. The hermit had grow sick and Finthol sought for Aerwe’s help. Aerwe in a moment of anger and envy refused, Finthol was enraged and departed Imladris. Aerwe immediately knew his reposnse was neither wise or helped his cause and now regret filled his conscious. A day or so later several books on medicine were found missing from the library (the books Istuir discovered on the body).
Istuir asked if Aerwe would have any clue or idea as to where Finthol may have gone and Aerwe simply shook his head, it was then Istuir remember the torn pieces of paper, handing them to Aerwe he hoped for answers.. Aerwe examined them eagerly but shook his head, he did not know what they were but informed Istuir that there was a final possibility of understanding what was written, a Dwarf in Thorins Hall whom had dedicated his life to old texts, languages runes and the like.
Aerwe in slight desperation pleaded with Istuir to find Finthol if he could, Istuir reassured Aerwe he would do everything in his power to locate Finthol.
Gathering his thoughts and readying himself Istuir departed, back to Ered Luin with great haste.
