Background
Oirano was born in Valmar on Valinor during the Age of the Trees and belongs to the House of the Noldor. After the destruction of the Trees and the "Oath of Feanor," he accompanied the Noldor as part of Finarfin's Host. After the "Kinslaying of Alqualonde" and the burning of the ships, he became part of Fingolfin's retinue and finally came to Middle-earth. There he followed Fingolfin for a long time until the founding of Gondolin. He became a border guard of Gondolin until the "Fall of Gondolin." When Morgoth's armies descended on Gondolin, the other border guards were ordered by Turgon to serve as escorts for the fleeing women and children. Led by Glorfindel, he led the fugitives through the secret pass out of Gondolin, where Glorfindel fell victim to a Balrog. Like many of the survivors of Gondolin, Oirano also took part in the "War of Wrath." After the end of the First Age, he lived for a long time under High King Gil-Galad in Lindon, where he resumed his profession as a border guard. After the creation of the Rings of Power, he participated in the battles between the Elves and Sauron. at Gil-Galad's behest, he became part of the border guard of the newly founded Imladris. Like many Elves, Men, and dwarves, he participated in the Battle of the Last Alliance at the end of the Second Age, where he was wounded by the Witch-king. After the war, he was brought back to Imladris, where he recovered from his injuries. It wasn't until 2994 AD that Oirano awakened. Elrond then offered him a chance to leave Middle-earth and return to Valinor. However, after Oirano beheld the state Middle-earth was in, he chose to travel, as a Wanderer, assisting the free people and reducing the influence of Sauron and his servants wherever possible.
