Background
Born from Dalish nobility, Matheric was sent away from his father at the age of five. As squire and ward of an aged knight, he practised swordplay until he was a man grown, when he was chosen to serve in the King's Royal Guard.
Standing at attention all day, he had the opportunity to witness the nobility's vying for power and corruption, and slowly grew to despise it. When he was sent on a badly planned mission, he chose to leave the King's service, and instead swore his own vows upon his sword, vows which he thinks will lead to his death.
Despite the fact that he doesn't place himself above those without station, he still is highborn, and a keen eye will quickly spot that fact in his manners.
Usually gentle, he would go to any lenght to help a commoner he judges kind-hearted, he will however be a lot more wary of nobility.
True to his word, he spent most of his time in battle and eventually succumbed to wounds he had taken rescuing Remis Locke.
