Malthembor
| Name | Malthembor |
|---|---|
| Occupation | routing the spawns of Gorthaur |
| Age | Ancient |
| Race | Elf |
|---|---|
| Residence | Rivendell |
| Kinship |
| Outward Appearance | The Elf stands before you, tall and proud, gazing back at you calmly and steadily with blue eyes like to icy crystals, his hair as dark as the night sky. His features are soft and of an unpretentious beauty, yet for all the enchantment of his countenance and the grace of his movements there is a sombre air around him and a dark demeanour dispelled only when he hears the sound of music or the voices his kinsfolk. When he speaks, he does so with conviction and vigour, his sonorous voice commanding the attention of those around him but also with a slight notion of genuine melancholy. When he is not speaking or singing you can catch his gaze roaming about as if in a dream or reliving ancient memories. Upon his forehead he is wearing a golden circlet set with jewels of sparkling radiance, intricately fashioned and adorned with ancient Elven letters. His robes and cloak are dark yet carefully adorned and finely fashioned but mostly he is found wearing his glorious mail hauberk, reminiscent of the splendour of old, wrought in the style of the raiments of Ondolindë |

Background
Laurinquar is born in the year 350 of the first age of the sun in the beautiful city of Gondolin together with his twin brother Raumoquar. His father Nármeldo is a member of the house of the fountain ruled by Ecthelion.

In the sack of Gondolin, Malthembor's father Narméldor is allegedly slain and the rest of the family are led to the mouths of Sirion by Idril Celebrindal .

But, alas, for the folly of the Noldor, the sons of Feanor seek to wrest the silmarilli from the refugees and in the ensuing battle Nolwen and Malthembor's twin brother Rombor are slain by members of their own house, such is the confusion of the eldar.

Consumed by grief and wrath, Malthembor roams the lands, routing the spawns of Melkor where he finds them. On one of these ventures he encounters his father Nármeldor, who had not been slain but kept as a prisoner in Angband from whence he had managed to flee. However, the torment of the iron hells has forever changed the once noble warrior, and although free of the prison, he is still a thrall of Melkor and a spy for the dark lord. In the conflict that arises between father and son, Nármeldor is slain, and Malthembor utterly lost and devestated.

Resisting the urge to set sails to the west, Malthembor devotes himself to his people again, serving them as a sturdy warrior in many a battle. When the war of wrath is fought, and Beleriand plunged into the depth of the sea in a great cataclysm, Malthembor follows Gil-Galad to Lindon.
Later, in the second age, he dwells in Eregion with Celebrimbor and indulges in craftsmanship and smithing. But there comes Annatár the gift lord and sneaks into his heart, winning his undying devotion and faithful servitude. In his true guise Sauron wages war against the Gwaith-í-Mirdain and wreaks havoc upon Eregion. Celebrimbor is slain and Malthembor seeks refuge in Lindon under the protection of Cirdan, where he still dwells today
